Message of Solidarity from the Swiss Party of Labour to the Federation of Workers Councils and Unions in Iraq-FWCUI regarding the recent waves of strikes of Iraqi workers.

Dear Comrades

We are really impressed by your strike movement and we would like to express you our solidarity in your difficult struggle.
In this time, in witch the news inform every day about the bloody attacks and the numerous victims in Iraq, the way of struggle you have chosen shows, that there are constructive possibilities to defend the cause of the Iraqi population in the daily life, even under occupation. Extending trade unions, women and civil rights are basics to demand participation and welfare for the majority of the people, regardless their ethnical origin.
With you we hope that the strikes will be successful and will give power to the workers movement.
