Solidarity message of FWCUI to
ILC conference in Madrid -18 &19.March
2005
Dear Friends
In charge of all Iraqi Workers
In charge of Federation of Workers Council land
Union in Iraq we send our Solidarity greeting to
the leadership and members of International Liaison Committee for Workers and
People- ILC and all participants in this conference of ILC.
First of all we would like to
express our great appreciation to ILC which started with us and with
progressive trade Unions like USLAW …ect
an international campaign to end the occupation and to defend labour rights in Iraq. Hundreds of
labour activist, trade Unions and progressive groups supported our compliant to
ILO to implement fully ILO conventions 87 and 98 in Iraq. Right of freedom
and organise are critical demands of labour movement in Iraq. Still our
campaign thank to all forces who stood
strongly with us is continuing until we succeed to cancel the decrees Nr. 16 of
the Iraqi governing council and interim government which violated these international conventions of
ILO by recognising a group as official
and only representative of workers in Iraq.
It has been two
year and Iraq is still an occupied country; since two years Iraq has been
transformed into a battle field between two harsh poles of terrorism; the
American and occupying forces and their right wing policies on one side and the
political Islam gangs’ terrorism, the remnants of the former regime, and their
armed militias on the other side. Each pole vies with the other in killings and
violations of not only human rights but even human existence. It has been two
years of blood shedding, man slaughtering on TVs, ruthlessness, organized
crime, gangs and mafias. It has been two years of insecurity, the violations of
the most basic rights, depriving the people’s right to decide their political
destiny. It has been two years of daily women’s abductions, rapes and killings.
It has been two years of reviving the most rotten trends of ethnocentrisms,
religion, tribalism and sectarianism. Their first attempts have been to impose
the law that deprive the workers from right to organize, and the reinstatement
of the “capital punishment”. To pass its project in Iraq, USA has orchestrated
the farce of elections, which is no more than a scenario to mock the people in Iraq. That election has
resulted in establishing the rule of the most reactionary trends of sheikhs,
sectarians and plunderers. More than 100000 casualties of armless civilians has
been the “present” of the American democracy to the masses in Iraq.
Occupation of Iraq was not outcome of
a miscalculation of Bush and American administration Occupation and war are the
perspective of the American polices and its new world order. War and occupation of Iraq, occupation of Afghanistan, creation of
crises and conflicts in the world, are the outcome of the capitalist policy and
the forms of deep crises of the existence of capitalism .This reveals again
that capitalism could not survive without exploitation, creation of wars and
crises.
This environment of terrorism, militarism, wars, and arrogance, which America tries to spread
all over the world, should come to an end. No goal could be achieved if we all
do not align to a radical libertarian humane pole. This pole should have its
clear goals. We should differentiate our front from all those who want to get
benefit from “the civilized world” just to continue on their projects, which
are none but to stand against humanity and the human values. Neither America is the liberator
of the people nor are political Islam bands the
representatives of the struggle of the masses in Iraq. Both terrorist poles,
in spite of their enmity to rule, stand side by side against the masses’
expectations and alternatives. These two poles are ready to commit the most
ferocious crimes against the civilians to reach their dirty ends behind this
war. The arrogance of the right wing ruling in USA is more obvious
than ever.
The masses in Iraq and workers are
living under a nightmare and a dark scenario. We are struggling and working
under the shadow of these reactionary forces and we are confronting with
killing and kidnapping at any moment.
We need your support. The escalation of your
struggle and pressure on America to end its
occupation is a necessity to end this catastrophic situation and eradicate the
political Islam, which America has given, through
this war, more stamina. Our progressive labour movement in Iraq is the candle in
the nights of the dark scenario. Your support to this humane front in every way
possible is inevitable to liberate the society and re-establishing civility to
it.
We demand an immediate end of occupation of Iraq.
We demand separation of religion from the state.
We demand a no ethnic and non religious state in Iraq.
We demand unconditional political freedom.
We demand full equality between men and women.
We demand equal rights and social basic rights for all Iraqi people.
We demand a progressive labour law in line with international labour
standards.
The forces of Left, progressive and labour movement are not yet a
serious force in this balance of forces in Iraq.
The victory of the right wing forces in Iraq is the defeat to
all freedom loving and progressive movements’ world wide.
The victory of the freedom and progressive movement in Iraq is the victory and
historic change in Iraq on behalf of the
left worldwide.
Our movement in Iraq tries to play this
important role in Iraq and to transform
the labour movement to an essential power in the actual conflict in Iraq
The Progressive front in Iraq should has this political power in this international
conflict in Iraq .The resistance front against the occupation and for freedom
of Iraq should be leaded by the left and secular and freedom movement and not
in the hand of the reactionary political
Islam and remnant of the former Iraqi
regime .
We demand immediate withdrawal of all occupying forces from Iraq as a critical
condition for building a progressive society and to achieve unconditional
political freedom .A society respects the human being and its needs and its
willpower.
The Labour movement in Iraq has demonstrated
through its massive strikes in the last few months that it’s a strong and
serious force to end the occupation and for a better future of Iraqi people.
Our victory will be a defeat of right wing ruling in USA and worldwide.
Let’s create our Model in Iraq, model of the
progressive labour movement with our deeply rooted humanitarian perspectives.
Let’s broaden the dimension of our movement.
We want to change the world to a world of freedom and equality. Let’s stand with each other
We have chosen this way and we must step forward
Support the progressive labour movement in Iraq
Support secularism and freedom
Support t our social and political alternative for a better future in Iraq.
Finally we hope you a successful conference in Madrid .Because of
difficulty to get visa and to fly to Madrid from
Amman, our delegation
failed to be among you today in Madrid and returned back
to Iraq.
In Solidarity
Long live freedom and equality
Long live willpower of the Iraqi masses to determine their political and
social future
No to war,
occupation and militarism!
Thank you
very much.
