In the
third anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq
Ending
the occupation is our mission
The bloody war led by the US
has resulted in catastrophic implications destroying the entire basic civil
live. It put the society into a verge of sectarian war as a result of ethnic
and religious division carried out by US appointed government who defined the
Iraqi citizen based on religion and language. Also it carried over the conflict
among the parties in power (who represent the regional and international
interests) to the society and dragged it into their own disagreement causing
thousands of casualties and making the lives of people as hell because of the
lack of security, unemployment, sky high inflation and the lack of civil and social
services. As the US administration claims that their troops are staying in Iraq
to maintain security we see that the sectarian violence is spreading in a
larger scale.
With the continuation of
occupation policies and the regional powers influences, the Iraqi people find
no hope of ending the current tragic situations in the foreseeable future.
The presence of workers as a
class in many social activities and presenting themselves as human being rather
than ethnically and religiously divided people, have created a solid ground of
a social movement who can put forward the humanitarian alternative where the
workers are its spearhead. The workers will be able to play this historic role
once they have their means to draw the fate of the society.
The Federation of worker
councils and unions in Iraq has always being struggling to be a reliable
organization to assist the workers to impose their will and interest, and to
change the current situation to the best of the society as a step forward to
establish a society where exploitation and slavery have no ground whatsoever.
Our federation has risen the
slogan stating: the strength of the working class in its unity and
organization. Revolving the workers around their interests and goals is
essential to end the sectarian, ethnic and religious division.
Long live freedom
