Workers of
Printing Firms Face the Threat of Unemployment

Thousands of workers in the
private printing firms, whose lives are dependent on maintaining this industry,
are facing immediate threat of losing their jobs.
These workers have been
spending many years of their lives working in the printing firms, facing the
risk of being injured and disabled at any moment, every single day and every
hour, with no insurance or compensation against unemployment, disability and
illness. They are now facing the prospect of losing their jobs and the earnings
that their families and children live on.
After the shutting down of
many industries as a result of ending the provision of fuel, the lack of
electrical power supply and the insecurity situation, hundreds of printing
firms are now facing closure with the consequences of the unemployment of
thousands of workers. This new round of closure that threatens the printing
firms is related to the increase in the fuel price and ,
consequently, a low profit for the firms’ owners or their failure in resisting
the competition by foreign investment.
The destruction of the
industry in
The workers are organising
protests and rallies demanding:
security against being
unemployed, keeping their jobs and stopping the destruction of the industry
that their lives depend on.
The workers can run the
production and maintain the work of the firms, companies, and the
establishments that are udder the threat of destruction and privatisation.
Organising the workers in their councils and committees is the only guarantee
for realising their will in defending their lives and shape their political
plight.
The workers demand:
-
supply the printing firms with electrical power
-
establishing general sector
printing firms that workers have a great role
in employing the workers.
-
securing the workers not to be unemployed
-
involving the workers in the decision making
process regarding
-
tenders and employment contracts.
